Welcome to the privacy policy of PROJECTX COMPETITIONS LTD. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we process and look after your data when you visit https://projectxcompetitions.eu, create an account, enter a competition, contact us or use our services.

This website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

PROJECTX COMPETITIONS LTD is the controller responsible for your personal data. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 16472053 and our registered office is 562 Greenford Road, Greenford, England, UB6 8QU.

You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, but we would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.

We keep this policy under regular review. Please keep your personal data accurate and tell us about changes during your relationship with us.

Our website may link to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. We do not control their privacy statements and encourage you to read the policy of every website you visit after leaving our site.

The data we collect about you

We may collect, use, store and transfer the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity Data: first name, last name, username and date of birth where needed for eligibility.
  • Contact Data: email address, telephone number and postal or billing address where supplied.
  • Financial Data: bank-account details provided to pay a cash prize. We do not store complete payment-card details; authorised payment providers process card data.
  • Transaction Data: payment, order, competition, ticket and prize information.
  • Technical Data: IP address, login data, browser and device information, operating system and time-zone settings.
  • Profile Data: account credentials, purchases, preferences, feedback and reward history.
  • Usage Data: information about how you use the website, account and checkout.
  • Marketing and Communications Data: marketing preferences and communication history.

We may use aggregated or anonymised data for statistics. We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data or criminal-conviction data.

If you fail to provide personal data

Where we need personal data by law or under a contract, and you do not provide it, we may be unable to create an account, process an entry, deliver a prize or provide a requested service. We will explain this when we request the data.

  • Third parties: payment and fraud-prevention providers, email and SMS providers, analytics and advertising platforms, and public sources where lawful.

How we use your personal data

We use data only where permitted by law, principally to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the business, comply with legal obligations, and obtain consent for direct marketing.

  • create and manage customer accounts;
  • process payments, entries, ticket allocation, rewards and prize claims;
  • contact entrants and winners, verify eligibility and demonstrate a valid award;
  • provide support, prevent fraud, secure the website and keep audit records;
  • maintain and improve the website, services and communications; and
  • send marketing only where permitted and, for third-party marketing, only with express opt-in consent.

Publicity

Winner publicity is optional and does not affect your chances of winning. If you object to publicity, contact us before the closing date. We may still need to provide information to the Advertising Standards Authority where required to demonstrate that a competition was properly administered.

Strictly necessary cookies support sessions, security, account login, basket and checkout. With your consent we may use analytics, functionality and advertising cookies. Disclosures of your personal data

We may share data with processors and professional advisers who need it to provide their service, and with HM Revenue & Customs, regulators, the Advertising Standards Authority, law enforcement or a purchaser of the business where lawful. We require processors to respect security and process data only for specified purposes.

Our current service categories include UK hosting and IT providers; Paytriot and, when enabled, DNA Payments, PayPal or Stripe for payments; MailerLite and SMSO for consent-based communications; and analytics or advertising services such as Google Tag Manager/Stape where you consent. Provider names and processing arrangements may change; we will update this policy when material changes occur.

When you choose DNA Payments, we share the order reference, amount, currency and billing/contact information needed to process and verify the payment. Card and supported wallet details are entered directly in DNA Payments’ secure checkout, not stored by us. We retain transaction references, verification results and payment/refund status for order fulfilment, reconciliation, security and our legal obligations.

International transfers

Some service providers process personal data outside the UK. When this happens, we use an adequacy decision, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another lawful safeguard and ensure a level of protection consistent with UK data-protection law. Contact us if you want more information about the safeguard used for a particular provider.

Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Access is limited to people and processors who need it and are subject to confidentiality. We maintain procedures for suspected breaches and notify you or the regulator where legally required.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes collected, including legal, regulatory, tax, accounting and reporting requirements, complaints and potential claims. We may anonymise data for statistical purposes and use it indefinitely in anonymised form.

Your legal rights

Subject to legal exceptions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect earlier processing. We may request information to verify identity, normally respond within one month and may charge a reasonable fee for manifestly unfounded or excessive requests.

To exercise a right, email info@projectxcompetitions.eu. If you ask us to erase data before a competition closes, you will withdraw from that competition and may lose the ability to claim a prize.

Glossary and lawful bases

Performance of contract means processing needed to provide an account, entry, payment, ticket or prize. Legitimate interest means our interest in operating, securing and improving the business after balancing your rights. Legal obligation means processing needed to comply with law or a regulator. Consent means a clear affirmative choice, used principally for non-essential cookies and direct marketing.
